St. Cloud Area Genealogists

We are a non-profit organization that strives to make your family history research an enriching and rewarding experience.  Our monthly meetings include guest speakers who provide educational presentations to teach ways to prepare a research plan, how to evaluate evidence, techniques to discover online and non-digitized resources, and so much more.

Our premier organization is for everyone from the beginner to the most advanced family historian.  Our members research their ancestors from varying locations within Minnesota, throughout the United States, and from foreign countries.

Whether you have Minnesota connections or not, we invite you to join us in pursuit of your family history.  Joining our organization is a great way to propel your research forward and for connecting with a network of people who share your interest in family history.

The St. Cloud Area Genealogists meet the third Tuesday of the month - January - May and September - November at the Stearns History Museum.  Meetings start at 7:00 pm.

For more information, contact St. Cloud Area Genealogists Librarian Dan Schroeder at gancho3@msn.com or (320) 685-3629.

September 19th Meeting
Membership Feedback

Our dedicated board members are continually looking for ways to help our members gain knowledge to expand their genealogy research and learn more about their family history.  For our organization to continue to exist, thrive, and even grow we need to look at ways we can offer relevant information, activities, and services.

Therefore, during the September meeting we will take some time to ask our members for ideas and feedback so our board can develop a plan for providing future educational opportunities and activities to our membership. For those unable to attend, watch your email to learn how you can provide your ideas and feedback.  Feedback is due October 17th.

My Grandfather’s A Stilt Walker
Our speaker for September will be Patricia Quinn of Little Falls, Minnesota.  Pat is a charter member of the Morrison County Genealogical Society and a board member of St. Cloud Area Genealogists. She will share the resources she used to discover the story behind her grandfather’s career as a stilt walker.  It will also include the historical events that happened throughout his life. Come and learn resources you can use to discover your ancestor’s lives and the historical events that may have impacted their lives.
